Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone might reunite for romance!

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are reportedly in talks to reunite in Damien Chazelle’s upcoming musical La La Land.

The Crazy, Stupid, Love co-stars are in negotiations with director Damien Chazelle and Lionsgate to star in the upcoming romantic musical after Miles Teller – who played the lead in Chazelle’s Oscar-nominated film Whiplash– dropped out, Deadline reports. Although neither Stone, 26, nor Gosling, 34 – who also appeared alongside one another in Gangster Squad– have officially signed up for the film, production is scheduled to begin in autumn with the studio hoping to have the Hollywood stars on board.Chazelle – who is also a screenwriter – penned La La Land before Whiplash and it’s described as an old fashioned musical set in contemporary Los Angeles and centres on a love story between a jazz pianists and an aspiring actress. Teller was originally attached to star alongside Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who has since confirmed she will instead be taking on the role of Belle in Disney’s live action remake of Beauty and the Beast.Gosling recently took a break from acting to direct his girlfriend Eva Mendes – with whom he has seven-month-old daughter Esmeralda – and former Doctor Who actor Matt Smith in Lost River. However, he is now set to return to the screen in The Big Short opposite Christian Bale and Brad Pitt, Weightless and The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe.

The Notebook hunk is also in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro’s The Haunted Mansion.

Meanwhile, Stone – who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Birdman– will next be seen in Aloha followed by Irrational Man alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
