Taylor Swift grants a dying fan’s her last wish

Taylor Swift surprised a dying fan suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer with a 20-minute FaceTime phone call.

The 25-year-old singer made a surprise FaceTime call to Jalene Salinas, who is suffering from an aggressive form of terminal brain cancer, on Monday (02.03.15) to make the youngster’s final dream come true after she expressed a desire to dance with Taylor to her hit ‘Shake it Off’.

Speaking to Jalene’s mother Jennifer Arriagas during the phone conversation, she said: “I got back from London and I heard about her and it’s just unfathomable to have to watch your baby go through this.”

According to a USA Today report, Jalene was said to be “in pain” and as a result “didn’t talk much” to her heroine but she did say “bye and thank you” to the superstar singer.

Jalene’s final dream came true after Taylor’s fans – known as Swifties – started a social networking campaign to get #ShakeItOffJalene trending after hearing about her dying wish.

Following the surprise chat, Jennifer admitted she is delighted all of Jalene’s wishes have now been “checked off”.

She told KENS 5 News: “We can check everything off and as her mom it means the world to me that she got to do and see [everything] and everything is checked off now.

“It means so much to me that you reached out to us.”
