Nicole Scherzinger won’t let a broken heart get her down

Heartbroken Nicole Scherzinger has been nominated for an Olivier award!

The former Pussycat Dolls singer only made her West End debut last December, but is already up for the best supporting actress in a musical title thanks to her performance as Grizabella in the Andrew Lloyd Webber production, Cats.

The 36-year-old star will go up against Lorna Want from Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Samantha Bond from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels The Musical, and Haydn Gwynne from Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown The Musical in the musical category, while Gemma Arterton is hoping to snap up the Best Actress trophy for her part in Made In Dagenham The Musical.

James McAvoy will go up against Mark Strong, Richard Armitage and Tim Pigott-Smith in the Best Actor category, as Gillian Anderson leads the way in the Best Actress section.

The Olivier Awards will take place on April 12, with the highlights of the event aired on ITV later that evening.

In the meantime, Nicole is still struggling to get over her ex and believes that taking selfies will help!

She split from the Formula One racing driver, Lewis Hamilton, last month after seven years of being together and she thinks anyone going through a “hard time” needs to work on themselves and do whatever it takes to feel stronger and be a better person, saying, “For anyone going through a hard time, you feel broken. It’s about piecing yourself together and just focusing on you.

“Working on yourself, getting whole, getting strong, taking care of yourself, loving yourself, finding self-acceptance. Finding your worth again, whatever that is – take some selfies in good lighting, put cute contouring on your face, take some Instagram pics, have a margarita, whatever it takes to boost your self-esteem. You have to work on yourself and not focus on the other person. If you do that, you’re going to stay the old you and you are not winning – other people are winning and you are not. You can’t dwell on the past.”

And the 36-year-old beauty also thinks her Catholic faith will guide her through the tough times, saying, “I pray a lot. My faith is probably the best thing about me. But you have to really sit down and figure out what you’re meant for – go figure out a plan of how you’re going to go for that.”

Despite her words, it seems that Nicole may not have given up on the thought of reconciling with Lewis in the future.

She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine that, “it’s OK to let go. Because the people who are meant to be in your life will come back.”
