Jennifer Garner’s take on motherhood

Jennifer is a hands-on parent and tries to get involved in as many activities as possible with her and husband Ben Affleck’s kids Violet, nine, Seraphina, five, and Samuel, three.

She said: “I make sure everyone has notes for their lunch box every day and who’s having something special, and deciding who I read extra to [in the] morning.

“I’ve been the room mom for pre-school and kindergarten this year, and I’m the Girl Scout troop leader for third grade.

“When I’m home, I dive in, [and] I try to Betty Crocker it up as much as I can.”

The 42-year-old actress is close friends with Reese Witherspoon – who has kids Ava, 15, and Deacon, 11, from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe, and son Tennessee, two, with husband Jim Toth – and is grateful she can turn to her for advice on juggling her career and family.

She told People magazine: “If I run into Reese, she and I have so much to talk about.

“We’ll be on the street corner and just be like, ‘What do you do about this, and how did you handle this?’

“I’m so grateful for that very specific kind of friend.”

Though she is a doting mother, Jennifer also values time away from her kids with her Batman Vs. Superman star spouse.

She said: “I’m going straight to New York from here, and then I’m going to visit Ben [on set in Atlanta to] make sure he’s good. It’s just what you do…

“It just happened the other day where I was like, ‘I think I’m ready to be on set and talk to grown-ups’. Send Batman in.”
