Celebrities comment on #thedress debate

Cara Delevingne has joined ‘the dress’ debate and claims the garment is white and gold.

The 22-year-old model has weighed in on the viral discussion over the colour of the two-tone design after it was posted on Tumblr by Scottish singer Caitlin McNeill.

Caitlin captioned the image of the dress: “Guys please help me – is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree and we are freaking… out. (sic)”

The question has since caused the hashtag #thedress to trend worldwide on Twitter with Cara and a host of celebrities keen to have their say.

She tweeted: “The dress is white and gold. I see the back lining but that’s it. Also, it looks like it was shot in the shade so it’s a lighting thing.”

The British model-turned-actress also suggested a way to settle the dress debate once and for all.

She tweeted: “Surely whoever owns the dress should take a picture of it next to a white piece of paper.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has confessed that she’s “confused and scared” by the ongoing discussion over the colour of the outfit.

The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker said: “I don’t understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it’s a trick somehow.

I’m confused and scared.

PS it’s OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK (sic)”

Elsewhere, Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto opted to blast the design of the dress rather than speculate over its colour.

He tweeted: “How bout just plain fugly? #thedress (sic)”
