Will you be taking part in National Novel Writing Month?

If you’re behind your word count and looking for a little push in finishing your novel, or want to start a new one but need more motivation, joining in on the National Novel Writing Month could just be what you need.

All you have to do is sign up on the website and start working on your first draft. The aim is to have 50 000 words by 30 November. You can earn badges by interacting with other writers on NaNoWriMo community and get lots of inspiration and pep talks by well-known authors. Over the course of the month, you track the progress you’re making and at the end of the month – you should have a finished first draft!

The month-long online workshop also coincides with the 2014 Night of Writing Dangerously– a write-a-thon that happens in San Francisco on Sunday 16 November. In order to attend, you have to set up a fundraising page and raise $275 so you can end up on the guest list. It’s a fun party with food, drinks, writers in fun costumes and lots of prizes!
