GLAM Book Chat: Stavi Kotsiovos

As a publishing intern for Jacana Media, Stavroula Kotsiovos – or Stavi, as she’s known to friends and colleagues – spends her days making sure that the best of new and exciting local fiction is shared with reviewers and readers. GLAMOUR Book Club asked her a few questions about what’s on her own reading list – and how she enjoys her books, whether she’s reading for work or pleasure.

What are you reading right now?

I’m currently reading The Fault in our Stars by John Green which I must confess, I decided to read after first seeing and loving the movie.

What was your favourite book when you were a child?

As a child, my favourite book was Matilda, along with almost all other Roald Dahl books.

Where is your favourite place to read?

In or on my bed at any time of day.

What do you use as a bookmark?

It’s usually the folded receipt for the book I am reading!

Locally and internationally, who are your favourite authors right now?

If I’m allowed to say this, I have really enjoyed reading your online editor’s book, Close to Home , making her my favourite local author. My attention has been shifted a lot towards local authors over the past year so for the moment there is no stand-out international favourite.

E-reader or hard copy?

Definitely hard copy as a first choice – but no-one can deny the convenience of e-readers when travelling.
