Khloé Kardashian and French Montana have reportedly gone on a break after dating for eight months because he was too “needy”.
A source told Us Weekly: “They are on a break. The relationship got too heavy and Khloé needed to take a step back.” Another insider added: “It grated on her that he became so dependent on her.”
News of the couple’s reported split comes just one month after French praised Khloé, 30, for being so down to earth.
He said: “That’s my Koko. She’s a real cool down to earth person. I don’t think a lot of people get to meet her to find that out.” But he refused to support speculation that he was only dating her to boost his own profile, which was reportedly the thoughts of Khloé’s sister Kim Kardashian West and step-father Bruce Jenner. He said: “I don’t look at it like that. She’s the funniest person ever.”
In July, French was said to be so smitten with Khloé – who filed for divorce from her husband of four years Lamar Odom in December following allegations he cheated and took drugs – that he was preparing to propose to the brunette beauty.
A source said: “He has started to look at rings. French knows she’s the one for him. They’ve discussed their future and she’s said she would marry him. If he got his way, French would propose soon, and they would marry by the end of the year. So Khloé is going to try to push her divorce through as soon as possible.”
French is now trying to win her back. A source close to the reality TV star told E! News that the former couple are still in contact, as the Moroccan star is trying to save their relationship, “but eventually they will be totally broken up.”
The source added: “For all intents and purposes, Khloé is single again. Khloé thinks he’s a great guy but it just wasn’t working out.”

Khloé then took to Twitter to address the breakup in a series of cryptic tweets. She also posted an inspirational quote on the social networking site which appeared to be related to her romance.
She tweeted: “Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining – it bores everybody else, does you no good, and doesn’t solve any problems.” Amen (sic)”
But she did hit out at one fan who said she is “better than that” for posting the quotes. While the quotes she posted didn’t appear to be that comical, she clearly found the funny side and wrote back to the Twitter user: “stop reading into things. It’s a quote not towards a soul. Made me laugh. Hush up (sic)”
Earlier today, Khloé felt the need to inform her 11.1 million followers that she was disappointed she had woken up before sunrise.
She wrote: “Been up for an hour. I hate having 2 start my day before the sun. But oh well, I’m up… Shake it off sister (yes I’m talking to myself) (sic)”
