GLAMOUR: Can you tell us a little about what being featured in the Accessorize campaign means to you?

Nina: I’m very proud to be the face of Accessorize. It’s such a recognized brand and I’ve known about it since I was a little girl. It’s their 30th Anniversary, which it makes it even more special.

GLAMOUR:  The theme of your Accessorize shoot was ‘international travel’. Where’s your favourite international travel destination (and do you have any plans to visit SA)?

Nina: I’ve been to Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town, and I really enjoyed it there. I love going home to Denmark if I have time off, but the Caribbean is always a great getaway.

GLAMOUR:  As a model known for your swimwear shoots, what’s your top tip for choosing a swimsuit?

Nina: Find the fit you feel the best in. Just because tiny, almost non-existent bikini bottoms are in, if you don’t feel confident in that, don’t wear it. Also, finding a top that fits well is really important so you won’t have to worry about any slip accidents.

GLAMOUR:  Now for a trickier one: how do we make sure we look good – and feel confident – when we’re caught on camera in a bikini?

Nina: It’s about dedication. I work out at least four times a week and try to eat healthy 80% of the time. I really like spinning or classes at Barry’s Bootcamp, which is a mix of treadmill and weights.

GLAMOUR:  In fashion shoots, on runways and in music videos we often see bikinis worn with high heels, but that’s generally not practical in real life. What accessory would you add to your bikini for a day at the beach or pool?

Nina: It’s definitely not practical. You can throw on a white linen shirt and a pair of fun sandals, with an anklet to make it even cuter. Also, get a great pedicure.

GLAMOUR:  What’s your all-time favourite accessory?

Nina: Jewellery that I’ve gotten from people that mean something to me. Or a good bag, since you can always up your outfit easily by throwing on jewellery or a bag.

GLAMOUR:  What’s always in your handbag?

Nina: A good lip balm and my passport – I never know when or where I am going to end up because of my job.

GLAMOUR:  You give the impression of having an effortless sense of style, and keep it simple when it comes to makeup, too. How do you accessorise without looking like you’re trying too hard?

Nina: I like to keep it simple. If you have to think about it more than twice, don’t wear it. If you’re wearing a colourful dress, keep the accessories more simple. If you wear something simple, throw on a pair of big earrings or a necklace.
