Kim Kardashian and Kanye West threw a huge festival party for their daughter North’s first birthday, complete with a bouncy castle, Ferris wheel and much more.
The reality TV star’s daughter – with husband Kanye West – turned one on June 15, and the whole family got together this weekend for the inaugural Kidchella event.
After they shared pictures on Instagram, it’s clear the Kardashian family spared no expense for the little girl as they put on a festival based on trendy art-and-music extravaganza Coachella. Activities included everything from face painting and hair-braiding to temporary tattoos and fairground rides.
Guests were able to hang out in tepees at Kourtney Kardashian’s home in Calabasas, California, while a Ferris wheel was set up for everyone to enjoy. There were also small stalls, picnic benches, stages and a bouncy castle at the party.
Kim recently opened up about her parenting, admitting she is “strict” with North but still manages to be “fun and playful” at the same time.
She previously said: “I am a strict mother. I’m really fun and playful, but I’m really strict on nap time, and sleeping in her own crib. Like Kourtney’s style is where her kids sleep in bed with her, so especially with the third baby coming – they’re going to need a bigger bed or they’re going to need some other rules.”
But baby North was seemingly too young to enjoy her party – the little girl spent most of the time in the reality TV star’s arms because she was unable to participate in many of the activities.
An eye-witness told UsMagazine.com: “Kim was holding North a lot of the time, and the party seemed to be geared towards a little bit older kids. But it was a family party with all ages, and no matter what age they were, they were having a great time. There was so much to do.”
There were also small stalls, picnic benches, performance stages and a bouncy castle at the party.
The couple spared no expense for the celebration, which took place almost one week after North’s actual birthday last Sunday.
The famous family spent that day at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan in New York City, exploring five floors of literature, science, media and art, and decided to hold a big party a week later in Los Angeles so both of their families could be present. A source previously said: “They are throwing her a big party next weekend and Kourtney, Khloé and Kourtney’s kids are coming home for it.”
