Miley Cyrus banned from the next MTV VMAs?

Miley Cyrus doubts she will be asked to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards next year following her controversial performance at the event in August.

The ‘We Can’t Stop’ hitmaker, who was named the music channel’s Artist of the Year this week, isn’t convinced she will be invited back to the annual ceremony following her controversial performance at the event in August, during which she gyrated against Robin Thicke while wearing a nude-coloured bikini.

The 21-year-old star told radio personality Sonic backstage at the Power 96.1 Jingle Ball in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday (11.12.13): “Everyone else’s, I think, biggest moment of me was the VMAs. It was probably my biggest moment, too. I was pretty stoked to perform there.”

She added: “I doubt they’re ever gonna ask me back. But just kidding… I don’t know.”

Miley, who has confirmed she will perform live at Times Square on New Year’s Eve, insisted she doesn’t regret the provocative performance.

She explained: “That was before my record even came out, so I mean, it was the beginning of what I was showing people what I was gonna do.

“It kind of just opened so many doors for me to be like, alright, I already p***ed you off as much as I possibly can. So, now I can kind of just be freer and kind of do whatever it is that we want to do.”

Miley also caused controversy at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam in November when lit up what appeared to be a cannabis joint on-stage before accepting her Best Video prize for ‘Wrecking Ball’.
