4 DIY pedi tips

1. Remove all traces of your old nail polish and soak feet in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes to soften hard skin. Tired feet? Add a cup of Epsom salts to help rejuvenate them.

2. Use a callus file to slough off dead skin on your heels. We like OPI Feet Callus File(R279) or a foot peel like Skin Republic Foot Peel(R89.99). Neaten up your nail bed with a cuticle remover and cut and shape your nails.

3. Apply an exfoliating body or foot scrub with a pumice stone until smooth. Finish with a thick layer of moisturiser and a dab of cuticle oil on your toes.

4. Then apply a base coat to prevent nails from discolouring. Follow with two coats of polish and a top coat.
