Her retro styling, happy-go-lucky attitude and catchy sound make Toya Delazy, 23, every bit the passionate performer. Since exploding onto SA’s music scene with her debut single ‘Pump it on’ in 2012, she hasn’t stopped – and that’s how she likes it: “Making music fills me with joy.” This year alone, the great-granddaughter of traditional Zulu composer Princess Magogo has picked up three SAMA awards and a BET nomination for Best International Act Africa.
