Miley Cyrus praises Disney for same sex characters

Good Luck Charlie is set to introduce a character with two lesbian mothers and Miley, 20 – who found fame on Disney’s Hannah Montana and is a gay rights advocate – is thrilled with the development. She tweeted: “is this true?!?!?! I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation. They control…so much of what kids think! Life isn’t bright sets & wardrobe & kids becoming superstars! This is INSPIRING!”

Confirming the news, Disney told TV Guide in a statement: “This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors…Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”

Bi-sexual actress Evan Rachel Wood was also happy with the announcement, retweeting a link to the news and adding “Hell yea.” While Miley – who is engaged to Liam Hemsworth – is happy about the casting news, she admitted she can’t stop crying after mysteriously hurting herself and has been instructed to stay in bed to help it heal as quickly as possible so she can resume promotion for her new single.

She wrote on Twitter: “In so much pain. I hate being sick. My neck f***ing hurtttttts. #stressed. Really stressed out. Crying only makes me feel worst but i cant help it. i am finally getting to perform #wcs and now this s***s happening! Can’t move my neck. Can’t breathe. Cant barely speak. Coughing like a MF. WTF?!?! I gotta stop working myself up though.”
