Critics’ Choice Television Awards nominations revealed

American Horror Story: Asylum and The Big Bang Theory have each been nominated for 6 Critics’ Choice Television Awards. AHS: Asylum received nods for best movie or minseries, best actress in a movie or minseries for Jessica Lange, best supporting actor in a movie or miniseries for James Cromwell and Zachary Quinto and best supporting actress in a movie or miniseries for Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe. 

Meanwhile The Big Bang Theory was nominated for best comedy series, while Jim Parsons got a best actor in a comedy series nod, Simon Helberg was nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy series, Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch are both up for best supporting actress in a comedy series and Bob Newhart will compete for best guest performance in a comedy series.

Other series with multiple nominations include Parks and Recreation and Top of the Lake with 5 each and The Americans, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Louie, New Girl and Political Animals with 4 each.

 

Broadcast Television Journalists Association President Joey Berlin said: “This year’s nominations reflect the expanding definition of television, with nominated shows and performances representing new platforms as well as broadcast and cable. As evidenced by nominations for the 3rd annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards, television continues to be a rich and diverse source of high quality entertainment.”

Parks and Recreation star Retta will host the ceremony, which will be held on June 10, 2013 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. See the full list of nominations below.
