Kardashians launch tanning line

The celebrity sisters – who recently unveiled their own fashion line Kardashian Kollection with Dorothy Perkins, and also have a fragrance and makeup range – have further expanded into the beauty and skincare market with Kardashian Sun Kissed, due in US store Ulta in April.

In an interview with WWD, Kim said, “I think tanning has really been a way of life for all of us, living in California. Especially, more recently, the need for sunless tan. When I travel, the one thing that makes me feel alive whether or not I have makeup on is a tan, especially in my face.”

The five products – which range in price from R120,50 to R185,30 – are to be used in unison, with consumers applying either a body exfoliating or colour maximising product first, followed by the tan which comes as either a spray or lotion, and finally a tan-extending bronzer.

Kourtney added, “[We] came up with something that is still good for your skin and healthy for you; everything is paraben- and sulfate-free. We love beauty and fashion, but making sure we’re taking care of our bodies is crucial to us.”

Industry insiders estimate the tanning line will top $10 million (R92 700000)in revenue in its first year.
