Although the designer’s preppy designs are a world away from the “Born this way” singer’s ecclectic clothing choices, Tommy admitted he would jump at the chance to dress her.
Speaking at the grand opening of the Tommy Hilfiger West Coast Flagship on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz, “I’d like to see Lady Gaga in my clothes, I’d like to prep her up sometime.
“I like preppy but I always like to make it new and fresh and different. Anything that is colourful and bright but with a new shape and fabric, not preppy as you might have imagined it in the past. I like to keep it new and fresh.”
Tommy’s wife Dee Ocleppo added, “I can definitely see her in some topsiders.”
The designer is thrilled with the location of his flagship store, which counts upmarket brands including Michael Kors and Chanel among its neighbours.
He explained, “Robertson is in my opinion the great shopping street and this location is just perfect for the brand.”
Stars including Drew Barrymore, Kristin Davis, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, Ed Westwick, Estelle, Topshop’s Sir Philip Green and his daughter Chloe also attended the launch.
