This season, eyes get a splash of colour in emerald, blue, pink and neon. Scroll through for some bright-eyed inspiration!
We know what you're thinking: shouldn't I be removing traces of red from my eyes? Fear not: hot pink eye shadow like Kangol Chemistry Eyeshadow Kit in Circus (R59 can be flattering. Apply it to the lid in a bold swoop, htn anchor it with black kohl liner on the top lash line and inner rims.
Neon at Milly by Michelle Smith
At Milly by Michelle Smith, futuristic fashion went with bright eyeliner. Romy Soleimani from MAC suggests starting with white eyeliner - TRY Yardley Retractable Eyepencil in Metallic White (R89.99). Then wet a neon powder like Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel Matte Collection in 84 (R189) and apply it over the white with an eyeshadow brush. Keep the rest of your look quiet: concealer, powder and a little highlighter.
Green at Marimekko
'Anyone can wear green eyeshadow,' says Shiseido artistic director Dick Page. 'On fair skin, it's dark and edgy while on black skin it's vibrant.' Brush a loose powder like L.A Girl Diamond Eyeshadow in Groupe (R35.95) along the natural contour of the lid. Extend it up and out in a straight line for a bright cat eye - use a credit card as your marker if your hand is less than steady.
Blue at Monique Lhullier
The inspiration at Monique Lhullier was 'Ibiza', and 'aquatic'. 'Blue eye shadow frightens women,' says Blair Patterson from Estée Lauder. 'But smoky eyes are easy (the less precise, the better!) and blue is beautiful with brown eyes. Dab Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo in Waves (R395) on the lid - keep brights out of the crease for an office-friendly look. Finish with gold on the inner corners.
