Many of us have come to love face creams which unfortunately don’t have an SPF in them, and while usually we’d tell you that you should try and find one which includes an SPF, thanks to Dermalogica’s Solar Defense Booster SPF 50 (R535), we won’t. Why? The booster is a concentrated formula which you can mix in with your face cream every morning. And the best part is, you won’t even notice the difference – only that your skin will be fully protected!

We’re loving the GANT eyewear collection for Spring/Summer 2013, because it’s simple, clean and oh-so preppy! Each pair is handcrafted and offers a sophisticated, yet affordable appeal in optical frames – find duo-toned silhouettes that have subtle pops of colour, or sportier shapes (if that’s more your style). Our favourite pair so far? These masculine black Gibson style specs (R1265), because this season we’re getting our geek on!

While it’s wonderful to have the sun out, protecting your skin from the harmful rays is no joke! The South African sun is incredibly harsh, which means it’s important to apply sunscreen daily – that’s why we’re loving Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Sun Defence for Face SPF 50  (R185 for 50ml). Not only a very good protectant with a high factor, but also lightweight and non-oily makes applying this cream daily an easy task!

Available from Edgars Red Square stores nationwide.

Today we’re loving these multi-coloured boho bracelets from Sass Diva (R175), because nothing quite says summer like salty hair, sandy feet and loads of colour. Perfect to add a pop of colour to a simple white beach dress or to add loads more playfullness to an already bright outfit – you can wear these bracelets with just about anything!

Today we’re loving Palmers Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Lip Butter, R21 (available at Dis-Chem). Ok, so the real reason we love this so much is because is smells good enough to eat – but, you’ll be glad to know that it does have some great benefits too. The formula contains Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E that will soothe and soften your lips, while antioxidants nourish and protect them. Wear by itself for a natural gloss, or under your lipstick to add a subtle sheen.

Not a fan of Peppermint? it’s also available in Dark Chocolate and Cherry!

Tired of colourful prints and floral dresses? We’ve found you the perfect item which is both cute and feminine with an added edge. This photographic print shift dress from Mr Price (R149.99) from their RT Limited Edition Range is on the perfect side of cool – especially when you feel like getting your rock-chic look on. If you’re stepping out in the day, be sure to team it with a pair of flat black brogues, and if you’re heading on a night out, rock your look with a pair of ankle boots and a leather biker jacket. Don’t forget that slick of red lippy for that added GLAM factor!

There were squeals from the Beauty Editors when The Body Shop announced that the Kabuki brush (R165) would be making a come back (to be honest, we’ll never know why they ever took it off the market). The funny name comes from a style of Japanese theatre where the actors wear heavy, dramatic makeup – which is strange because these little gems actually deliver the exact opposite.

So why do we love it so much? Because it can be used to apply almost any makeup. It’s a one-stop shop for brushes; blotting powder, blush, powder foundation, bronzer and even liquid foundation. Kabuki brushes have a short stem with quite a strong curve at the end of the bristles, which makes it ideal to hold just enough product to deliver the most incredibly natural finish, without much wastage. It’s also incredibly easy to use, you literally buff the product onto your skin using gently circular stokes and voilá you’re ready to step out the door with flawless skin!
