Jennifer Lopez says she took her young daughter to Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris Fashion Week show because she thought Emme would appreciate the “fantasy” of it.
The 43-year-old singer has revealed she took four-year-old Emme to the Paris Fashion Week show at the Grand Palais because she thought her fashion-mad daughter would love the glamour and fantasy of Karl Lagerfeld’s spring/summer 2013 collection.
The curvaceous star said: “I thought it would be a good idea. My daughter loves fashion – she’s four years old, but she loves clothes and dressing up, like all little girls. And so I thought: ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be nice to take her to the beautiful Chanel show?’ It’s always so beautiful, kind of like of like a fantasy life. And I hadn’t been to a fashion show in a long time, and when I got there, I forgot that the press can kind of just run up to you.”
Emme donned a pink dress by the fashion house for the occasion, teamed with a white cardigan and pink shoes, and was estimated to be wearing R19 500-worth of Chanel accessories.
Speaking on German television show ‘Wetten, Dass’ this weekend, Jennifer added: “She wore [it] because I wanted her to have something Chanel on her. She had a little Chanel bag that they gave her, and a little Chanel pin that they lent us.”
Creative director Karl joined the star on the show and was shocked to discover Emme had not been allowed to keep the items.
He raged: “Lent? They took it back? Oh, that’s horrible!”
Oh to be the daughter to a glamorous star like JLo… just think of the bag collection she’ll have by the time she’s 18!
