Louis Vuitton meets the princess of prints!

If we ever needed confirmation that prints are in, Louis Vuitton has firmly assured us with their latest collaboration with the princess of prints, Yayoi Kusama.

The Japanese artist (who exhibited alongside Andy Warhol) has been showcasing her avant garde artwork at prestigious exhibitions since the 80s, including the Venice Biennale and MOMA in New York. She has proven to be an indispensable figure of contemporary art and become known as the princess of prints (for which we couldn’t agree more)!

After Marc Jacobs (creative director at Louis Vuitton) encountered one of her exhibitions in Tokyo in 2006, he became a massive fan, which eventually lead to the collaboration between the two brands.

And what a collaboration it is! The iconic Louis Vuitton leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, watches and jewellery became the supports for Yayoi’s organic and repetitive patterns. The result? A print and pattern crazy selection of brightly coloured items. It seems that whoever said you couldn’t wear print on print has been proven wrong by one of the fashion world’s most prestigious brands!

So girls, take this as full permission to bring out your prints out and go pattern crazy.
