Get the look!

At the LA premiere of Savages, Blake Lively wowed the crowds in a figure-hugging Zuhair Murad gown, a perfect red pout and Hollywood curls. Although it may look hard to recreate the look, it’s actually fairly simple to execute. Here are some easy steps on how to get her look!

Step 1: Conceal any imperfections and apply your foundation as normal. Apply a dot of highlighter to the inner corner of each eye – this will make your eyes look brighter.

Step 2: Brush your brows into place, and fill them in with a brow pencil if necessary.

Step 3: Apply a line of black liquid liner above your top lash line (our current fave is Clarins Instant Liquid Eye Liner in Black, R225). Once dry, curl your lashes, and apply a few coats of volumising mascara like Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Mascara, (R89.95.)

Step 4: The focus here is those gorgeous lips, so make sure you apply your lippy with perfection! Although we’re obsessed with the red lippy from Kate Moss’ collaboration with Rimmel for The Kate Lipstick Collection in Shade 001, (R69.95), choose a red that you love, and that suits your skin tone.

Step 5: If you don’t have golden skin like Blake’s, fake it with a few sweeps of bronzer. We love Physicians Formula Cahsmere Wear Ultra-Smoothing Bronzer, (R180 from Dis-Chem) as it delivers a natural glow.

Step 6: The final flourish is glossy red nails. The glossiest red we’ve found this season is Lancome’s Le Vernis In Love in Shade 005, (R175.)

To get her Hollywood waves:

Step 1: Apply a dollop of mousse to damp hair, and blow dry.

Step 2: Create a side parting before applying a heat protection spray.

Step 3: Wrap different sized sections of your hair around a medium barreled curling iron. The best way to get natural-looking curls is to hold the iron vertically, and wrap the hair around the barrel toward the back of your head. This way, the curls will all face the same direction. As you finish each curl, pin the section to your head to cool.

Step 4: Once you’ve finished your whole head, unpin the curls, and gently brush through with a paddle brush. Don’t fiddle too much here, as too much brushing will just create frizz. Finish with a shine spray.
