Trust Borat to push a few buttons at a black tie event, nevermind the actual Oscars ceremony! Ryan Seacrest looked somewhat “surprised” when Sacha Baron Cohen threw ashes all over him at this year’s Oscars.
The pint-sized star says he had an idea that the Bruno actor, who attended the Academy Awards dressed as General Aladeen – his controversial character from the forthcoming movie The Dictator, was going to pull a stunt on the red carpet, but he wasn’t expecting to have the ashes of Kim Jong-Il spilled over him!
Speaking on his radio show, “On Air with Ryan Seacrest’, he said: “I was surprised, but not surprised. I definitely did not know that he was going to do that.” Ryan knew immediately that Sacha had deliberately tipped over the golden urn, which featured the face of the late North Korean leader, onto his tuxedo, but he managed to remain calm and was grateful for packing a spare jacket.
Kudos to Ryan for handling the incident like a total pro – let’s just hope that those ‘ashes’ were in fact cake mix!
