Andie MacDowell’s daughter has been named Miss Golden Globe 2012 – talk about talent running in the family!
Rainey Qually, 21, has been given the prestigious honour by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the annual Golden Globes awards ceremony. On receiving the accolade, the aspiring actress and singer gushed, “I would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve as Miss Golden Globe 2012. I’m really looking forward to being a part of this year’s awards presentation.”
The famous beauty will be following in the footsteps of other Hollywood offspring the likes of Rumer Willis, Lorraine Nicholson and Kathryn Eastwood.
The Miss Golden Globe recipient assists at the official awards ceremony which is slated to take place on January 15. This year’s event is to be hosted (controversially) by Ricky Gervais, for the third year running.
Last year, the British comedian caused outrage with his cutting jokes, and admits he was surprised he got the gig again. He said, “They must be mad. Not sure if I’m flattered that they trust me or insulted that they trust me.” Oh, the drama!
