Win a date with Mr Darcy!

If you’re anything like the GLAMOUR office, you also spend a good chunk of your down time dreaming of a date with the dishy Mr Darcy. And you’ll be just as excited as we were when we discovered that the yummy Colin Firth is auctioning off himself for charity. Form an orderly queue ladies!

The King’s Speech star has teamed up with Oxfam America – an international relief organisation that aims to create lasting solutions to end poverty, hunger and injustice – to allow one lucky bidder and a friend the opportunity to meet him at the premiere of his movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in Los Angeles.

The winner and their friend will be chauffeured to the screening in an Audi A8L Luxury Sedan where they will meet Colin and watch the film before being driven to the after-party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

A little worried you’d be left star-struck and struggling to speak if you win the prize? Fear not! The handsome actor has admitted that he himself is often taken aback when he meets famous musicians or writers. Colin said, “Ever so often, I will meet someone who I greatly admire and get truly dumbstruck. I’m a big fan of the people in the world of music and literature. If I’m a big fan of somebody, I prefer to keep at a safe distance because I don’t know what I will do.” Well, we can safely say that we know exactly what we’d want to do to you, Mr Firth…

Bidding for the chance to meet the Pride and Prejudice actor takes place via online auction website eBay and ends later today (23 Nov), with the highest bid currently standing at $2 425 (R20 386). Fancy it? You’ll have to dig deep…
