Location: Cape Town Ostrich Ranch, 20 minutes from Cape Town
GLAMOUR tip: This festival features lots of fun, outdoorsy activities, from paintball and a foefie slide to a ‘Float Your Boat’ competition! However adventurous you’re feeling, though, we don’t recommend making use of the tattoo facilities in the midst of your partying.
GLAMOUR tip: In addition to buying tickets to the event, you can be one of the 130 ‘pirates’ who tour Avontoer’s 10 bands, 2 busses, tent town and pirate chef!
Date: 3 – 5 February
Location: Up the Creek campsite, near Breede River
GLAMOUR tip: Book a tent before the event – it’ll be pitched for you when you arrive, and taken down for you after you leave! You can also book a Heartbreak Motel, a ‘cottage-style tent’, for a little more luxury.
Date: 2 -11 March
Location: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth
GLAMOUR tip: The Festival’s website is under construction, which is frustrating when you’re trying to work out when it’s rolling into your city, but luckily you can get the info you need here.
GLAMOUR tip: Try out some of the fun activities that are available in the area. Listed on the Splashy Fen website, they include horse-riding, mountain-biking, tubing and canoeing. On the same page you’ll find the contact details for farms, restaurants and a cheesery in the area – yum!
