The king of pop remembered

Cardiff saw a 50,000-strong crowd of loyal fans at the Michael Jackson Benefit Concert held at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

The concert was surrounded by controversy, as it took place at the same time as the manslaughter trial of the late legend’s doctor. Three of his siblings – Janet included – stayed away, saying the concert was in poor taste. However, his three children, Prince Michael I and II (better known as Blanket) and Paris, were all in attendance, supporting the genius of their late father. They were all dressed in iconic Michael outfits: Paris in a red and black leather Thriller suit, Blanket in a black suit with a red button-up and red armband, and Prince Michael in a white shirt and a black leather jacket.

The giant glove-shaped stage saw performances from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Gladys Knight, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Leona Lewis, and three of his brothers singing an old Jackson Five song. The King of Pop’s children introduced a touching video tribute from mommy-to-be, Beyonce.

The streets were filled with excitement as a Thriller Flashmob danced their way throughout the streets in a zombie-state.
